LENS SWIMMIG ACADEMY UNIQUE CURRICULUM
LEARN TO SWIM 1
Swimmer is a complete beginner without any background experience in swimming.
Usually kids from 2 to 4 years old
Learning program
Introduction to water
Learning to blow bubbles
Learning entering to the pool safely
Learning to float in water
Introduction to basic kicking, gliding and jumping
Expectations for promoting to the next level
No fear of water.
Safe entering the pool’s water without assistance.
Demonstration of well behaviour (listening of coach’s commands).
No fear of jumping in the water.
Perform 20 uninterrupted bubbles.
Perform floatation skills – “Star fish”.
15 meters gliding without assistance.
15 meters swimming with kick board without assistance.
15 meters backstroke swimming with kickboard without assistance.
LEARN TO SWIM 2
Swimmer is a beginner, who already can FLOAT and swim without assistance under / above the water, but has no proper kicking technique
Learning program
Developing kicking freestyle
Introduction to back stroke
Learn basic kicking with and without kick-board
Learning basic diving skills
Practicing to hold the breath for 15 seconds
Expectations for promoting to the next level
Breathe holding for 15 seconds.
15 meters freestyle swimming unassisted
15 meters back stroke unassisted
15 meters front kick unassisted
15 meters back kick unassisted
Retrieving submerging toys
Being able to swim to a point safely without assistance.
Demonstration of well behavior (listening coach’s commands)
LEARN TO SWIM 3
Swimmers can swim different styles without assistance, but need to improve strokes technique, flotation, breathing and endurance
Learning program
Improving kicking with and without the kick-board on the back and front
Developing kicking techniques of freestyle and back stroke
Developing the freestyle and back stroke swimming skills
Basic Breast stroke swimming practice
Improving basics of diving
Expectations for promoting to the next level
Kicking 25 meters without assistance
Swimming 25 meters without assistance non – stop.
Breathe holding for 15-20 seconds.
Retrieving toys submerging toys.
Demonstration of save enter and exit out of pool water without assistance.
Breathe holding for 15-20 seconds
LEARN TO SWIM 4
This program is a progression of the Level 3 – Swimmer can perform swim Front Crawl 25m without assistance
Learning program
Learning to swim Front Crawl and Backstroke 25 meters – 50 meters non-stop
Working on the kicking speed with and without the kick-board
Improvement of diving skills on the deep side of the water
Introduction to the Breaststroke kicking “Froggy Legs”
Expectations for promoting to the next level
50 meter freestyle swimming unassisted
50 meter back stroke with arm
50 meter breast stroke
50 meter dolphin kicking
Basic diving followed by dolphin kick
25 meter “Froggy Legs” kicking.
Breathe holding for 20 till 25 seconds
FOUNDATION 5
Learning program
Introduction to swimming with fins.
Focus on developing Front Crawl (Freestyle) stroke, Backstroke, Breaststroke kicking and stamina.
Introduction to dolphin style.

75 meter back stroke with arm
75 meter breaststroke
50 meter Basic butterfly

FOUNDATION 6
Learning program
Learning how to do the tumble turns for the Front Crawl
Learning how to do the underwater swimming as a part the pushing the wall.
Learning how to dive for the Front Crawl and Backstroke
Introduction to the Breaststroke technique and Butterfly kicking.
Swimming Equipment to be used: Kickboard, Pullboyu and Fins
Expectations for promoting to the next level
100 meter freestyle swimming unassisted/Time
100 meter back stroke with arm

DEVELOPMENT 7
Learning program
Improvement of the tumble turns for the Front Craw
Improvement of the underwater swimming part the pushing the Wall
Doing the Dive for the Front Crawl and Backstroke, Focus on the Breaststroke technique
Improvement of the Butterfly technique.
Swimming Equipment to be used: Kickboard, Pullboyu and Fins.
Level 7 Swimmers can start to participate in the Development Swimming Galas and friendly swimming races.

DEVELOPMENT 8
Learning program
Introduction to backstroke / breaststroke and butterfly turns.
Advanced development of the underwater swimming part and work on all starts “with dives” / finishes.
Working on the four swimming strokes techniques.
Swimming Equipment to be used: Kickboard, Pullbouy and Fins.
Participation in races
Expectations for promoting to the next level
Good technique for all strokes. Availability to swim 100m of each stroke at the competition.
Basic diving followed by dolphin kick

MINI-SQUAD
Learning program
The function of the Mini Swimming Squad is an introduction swimmers to the regular training and sportsmanship routine, developing stroke techniques and skills.
Swimmers should be aiming to compete and achieve at a local, region competitions
The goal is to develop personal athletic attitude, so that coaches could enhance swimmers swimming ability.
Swimmers need to learn how to take his/her responsibility in water as they do in life, and they should learn to understand how to control their bodies in any situation.
Minimum Training Commitment: All swimmers in Mini Squad must understand that this is a competitive squad and a minimum of 3 classes per week must be attended.
Minimum Equipment Required: Kick board, Pull buoy, Fins, Snorkel and Paddles
Expectations for promoting to the next level
Availability to swim any 200m of each stroke (Except 200m Fly) during the competition
JUNIOR SQUAD
Learning program
The function of the Junior Swimming Squad is to educate the swimmer in their regular and correct training.
Developing and improving stroke techniques, turns and starts.
Swimmers will be aiming to compete and achieve at a local, region competition.
Given the step by step guidance to start to comprehend the importance of work and the ability to setting goals.
Goal: Is to develop the athletic personal attitudes so that coaches could enhance swimmers swimming ability.
Swimmers will know how to take his/her responsibility in water as they do in life, and they will understand how to control their bodies in any situation.
Squad Criteria: Minimum Training Commitment: All swimmers in the Squad must understand that this is a competitive squad and a minimum of 4 classes per week must be attended. Minimum Equipment Required: Kick board, Pull buoy, Fins, Snorkel and Paddles
Expectations for promoting to the next level
Availability to swim any strokes and any races (Except 400m IM, 800m free, 1500m free) during the competition
SENIOR SQUAD
Learning program
The function of the Competition Swimming Squads is to introduce swimmers to a greater knowledge of their abilities with the help of aids such as: More advance training techniques and programs.
Swimmers will be aiming to compete and achieve at a local, regional and home national competitions.
Understanding of the feelings before, during and after competitions.
The importance of work and the ability to maintain focus and set goals.
The goal is to develop the athletic personal attitude, so that coaches could enhance swimmers swimming ability.
Swimmers will know how to take his/her responsibility in water as they do in life, and they will understand how to control their bodies in any situation.
Minimum Training Commitment: All swimmers in Elite Performance Squad must understand that this is a competitive squad and a minimum of 5 classes per week must be attended.
Minimum Equipment Required: Kick board, Pull buoy, Fins, Snorkel and Paddles
Expectations for promoting to the next level
ELITE INTERNATIONAL SQUAD
Learning program
The function of the Elite Performance Squad is to enhance swimmers’ power, velocity, stamina and techniques.
Planning customized programs, if there exists the need, according to the characteristics of the athlete.
Swimmers will be aiming to compete and achieve at a local, regional and home national and international competitions, and to have the full awareness of their feelings, improving the ability to maintain focus and set goals.
Improvement of the athletic attitude and coping with results of the competition. Developing mental focus for competitions. Development of recovery and rest plan.
Minimum Training Commitment: All swimmers in Elite Performance Squad must understand that this is a competitive squad and a minimum of 6 classes per week must be attended.
Minimum Equipment Required: Kick board, Pull buoy, Fins, Snorkel and Paddles, Stretch Cord, Band

SWIMMING FOR ADULTS - BEGGINNERS
Learning program
Swimmer is a complete beginner without any background experience in swimming
1.Introduction to water(explanation about swimming styles,breathing,kicking,floating,gliding)
2.Learning how to breathe (bubbles,hold the breath ,inhale,exhale to the water)
2.Learning how to float (floating exercises as a starfish,streamline float,T-float,mushroom float and etc)
3.Introduction to gliding in the water(different variations of gliding: without arms,one arm, both arms.
4.Introduction to basic kicking (front and back)
Expectations
1.No fear of water.
2.Be able how to breathe.
3.Be able how to float front and back.
4.Be able how to glide 10 meters.
5.Be able how to do kicking with board and without.
SWIMMING FOR ADULTS - INTERMEDIATE SWIMMERS
Learning program
1.Improving kicking front and back
2.Developing freestyle and backstroke techniques
3.Learning basic diving
4.Introduction to breaststroke and dolphin swimming style.
5.Introduction to swimming with fins
6.Introduction to the tumble turns for the freestyle and backstroke.
Expectations
1.To increase kicking speed
2.To be able how to dive
3.To be able swim breaststroke and dolphin style
4.To be able swim with fins
5.To be able to do tumble turns front and back
SWIMMING FOR ADULTS - ADVANCED SWIMMERS
Learning program
1.Developing and improving strokes,techniques,turns,starts.
2.Advanced development of the underwater swimming part(exits underwater)
3.Improvement 5 physical activity components: Cardiovascular endurance, Muscular endurance Muscular strength,Flexibility,Body composition
4.Participation in races.
3.Swimmers will be aiming to compete and achieve at the local region competition.
Expectations
1.To be able to swim with good techniques (all strokes)
2.To be able to do diving followed by dolphin kick
3.To be able to do 400 meters individual medley
4.To be able to swim 800m freestyle
5.Participates in local competitions
